In CharacterWhat's going on here? Have I been kidnapped?No, silly!
Your character has been brought here to settle and develop the great Wobegon City! Kent has discovered this amazing Universe and created this city on the planet Vitario. She was just missing...well...inhabitants! She has sent out invitations and sent out various singularities to borrow people to help develop this great city and hopefully expand it, eventually.
After the briefing and assignment at Processing, your character is free to do whatever they please to help develop the City! They will be given an option to use one of the Portals to return to their origin after three months, if they really want to return home.
Who or What is Kent?One of the game's main NPC and dea ex machina - Kent is a friendly, omnipotent presence that has explored multiple universes. She came to this Universe and found it to be empty, something she could not stand. Therefore she developed the planet of Vitario and Wobegon City. Once the beginnings were fully developed, she looked to the different Universes to draw people in to populate and develop it. She's the first point of contact when your character appears.
She stands 5'1" with wavy, platinum blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes with a small face and a bright, pink lipped smile. She has a tendency to dress in sunflower yellow clothes and has a brightness around her. She is humanoid.
Who or What is Chad?The other main NPC and deus ex machina - Chad is the god of the landmass that Wobegon City rests on.
He stands about 5'10, has a swimmer's build, and is very relaxed when talking with people. When strange weather or natural events happen, Chad...might have an explanation for it. Or he might not.
How did I get here?There are two ways of getting here!
SingularitiesPortals that were created by Kent that opened to the different origin universe. Characters feel a strong pull and only realize too late that a black hole has opened up right behind them before they're sucked through and dumped unceremoniously in a green and white tiled hallway by the feet of Kent, who greets them with a bright smile and offers a hand to help them up.
InvitationThere are those who existed in Universes that Kent is very familiar with. They will receive a personal invitation to come to Vitario and Wobegon City to assist in their development. If they accept, there's a button to press on the invitation to open up a singularity for them to walk through. They step into the green and white tiled hallway and before Kent to help acclimate them.
Once you arrive, Kent walks you through the quick history of the Universe and a plea to help develop the Universe with settling Wobegon city and potentially reaching out to explore the rest of the planet and the Universe. She then presents you with your very own Trasmit device and a voucher to pick out an apartment in one of two apartment buildings available in the city.
Don't worry about everyone back home. They won't even notice you're gone!
What can I do here?Well, there's jobs that are available to help fill out some of your time in between exploring everything! Be sure to check out the
job listing to see what's available.
There's also exploring of the planet by boat out over the glassy sea or into the forest or hiking into the mountains!
How do we communicate / What's this Trasmit thing?Kent provides a Transmit that you can wear on your wrist like a wristwatch that connects you automatically to the population wide public network and allows you to send private messages to individuals. There's an option to switch out your device to a small, handheld computer or a mobile touch phone for comfort.
Names are shown from the user with their preference of name order.
Tech talkThe technology that is native to Wobegon City dates from Earth Human late 20th Century / early 21st Century, which includes things like electricity, metal fabrication, waste management, etc. There are also a few scientific labs that are just brand new and waiting for scientists to come in and play with all of the toys as well as a fully equipped hospital!
Am I out in the streets?Absolutely not! Each arrival will be provided their own apartment suite, which is furnished and includes an ensuite bathroom. They have a choice of a one or two bedroom unit in one of the two apartment complexes that are available. If there's interest, three AC per character can be submitted to purchase a house or townhouse for themselves. Example: Player must submit AC as Clark Kent in order for Clark Kent to purchase a home; player cannot submit mixed AC as Steve Rogers and Clark Kent for Clark Kent to purchase a home.
CurrencyLet's not worry ourselves with currency and just go on good faith!
Language!Thanks to the nanotech of the Transmit network, all characters will be able to understand each other.
Out of CharacterWho can be thrown into this shenanigan?We accept the following characters:
- canon characters - if a canon has multiple interpretations (i.e. Earth616 Steve Rogers, MCU Steve Rogers), those interpretations are to be treated as separate canons and will not be mixed.
- original characters
- alternate universe characters
- cr au characters
- canon original characters (case by case basis)
If you are playing an AU, CR AU, or Canon OC character, please make sure that you have reached out and discussed with the existing canon characters before apping.
We do not accept characters based on real people.
All characters must be thirteen (13) years of age or older.
Multiples from different Universes are accepted. Multiples of the same canon Universe are not.
You can app/reserve two (2) characters per app round.
Can I play more than one character from a single canon?We cap it at two characters from the same canon per player. We'd like to give everyone the opportunity to play!
What about powers?Short of world breaking things, powers are kept.
Can I bring personal items / money / my character's pet?Everything that was on your person will be all that you can bring.
RE: KidsKids are allowed to come with their parent as long as they meet both of the following requirements:
- child is under five (5) years of age
- child is an original character (oc)
Don't play with yourself! People are watching!Playercest is not permitted here. If we find you playing with...yourself, we'll drop you from the game without any questions.
What's Activity Check like?Activity checks are done at the last week of the month. Each player must submit either a thread of 4 (FOUR) comments from them or a post made by them with every top level responded to.
